The specialty “Bulgarian & Turkish” was established in 2009 at the Faculty of Philology. It was formed according to the expanding interest in the culture and language of the other countries at the Balkan peninsula.
The specialty's curriculum is based on studying Bulgarian and Turkish languages from the basics. Graduates receive professional qualification as teachers in Bulgarian languages and literature and Turkish language and literature.
The specialty gives various opportunities for professional realization. Graduates could apply for jobs at the state administration, in the fields of translating and publishing, tourism, mass-media and international firms operating in both Bulgaria and Turkey.
During the educational process, both theoretical and practical disciplines are included. Theory of literatures of both nations is studied. Wide variety of disciplines for improving the language skills in Bulgarian and Turkish are included in the study plan.
The specialty is suitable for both people who attempt to receive their first higher educational degree and for those, who would like to wider their knowledge and competences in new and perspective areas.
