The specialty's curriculum is based on deep philological study of both languages. During the first two years of the study, among with the intense study of Greek language, students have theoretical courses in linguistics, literature, cultural studies, classical languages and others. During the third and the fourth year, student's study process is focused on learning Greek in its full spectrum. The study of Bulgarian language and Greek is integrated with Greek history, culture, literature and high-level of educational quality is provided by specialized lecturers (part of which foreign lecturers ) and up to date facilities and methods of study.

The graduates competences includes knowledge and skills in writing and oral translating from and in Greek, teaching Bulgarian and Greek by using their knowledge in theoretical and practical linguistics, literature, history and evolution of the language. Such qualification also gives them the opportunity to find their professional realization in the fields of teaching and education, translating, as specialists philologists (correspondents, literature collaboratives and editors), in the sphere of mass-media, and also performing organizational and management tasks in the fields of culture.
