The specialty Bulgarian & Russian is based on the extend study of Bulgarian and Russian languages. The qualification schooling of the students is based on theoretical, specialized and practical teaching through obligational, eligible and elective disciplines thus providing for the better competitiveness of the future graduates. Linguistic and literature, history of the Bulgarian and West-European literature, history of Russian literature, historical and contemporary state of Bulgarian and Russian languages and basic methodical and pedagogical disciplines are taught. The students from this specialty receive equal schooling in both languages.
The University has a richly equipped with modern technologies Center for Russian Language and Culture, which has CDs and cassettes with films and music, as well as a variety of literature.
Graduates could find their professional realization as teachers in Bulgarian language and literature, Russian language and literature in the school-system, in specialized schools or institutes, different educational and cultural institutions, as consultants in Russian language and culture in local, national and international organizations, translators, correspondents, literature collaborators, editors in the mass media – radio, television and others, as collaborators in advertisement agencies and publishing houses, tour operators, as well as performing teaching, scientific and methodical, organizational and management activities in the field of education.
The graduates could continue their education for the higher educational degree “master (additionally, not less than one year) and the scientific degree PhD.
