The specialty “Music” aims forming the following competencies and skills at the students:
- Performing and teaching music skills;
Graduates could find their professional realization as:
- Musicians (singers/instrumentalist);
- Music teachers in Kindergartens and High-schools;
- Teachers in musical theoretical disciplines, singing and instruments in classes with wider study of musical disciplines from 1st to 8th grade and classes with profile “Music” from 9th to 12th grade;
- Teachers in music instruments/singing in music schools;
- Managers in different music creative teams;
- Teachers in solmization, music theory, music analysis, history of music, Bulgarian national music and others in the system of Bulgarian high-school education;
- Directors in choral and instrumental staffs.
During the education, students gain theoretical and practical education in music disciplines needed by the musician as performers and pedagogues. The education provides knowledge about the specifics of the musical practice, the music pedagogical theory and the integration between them. The knowledge gained through the disciplines from the study plan provides its successful application in the process of music education in Kindergartens and High-schools.
One of the main priorities in the students preparation is the interdisciplinary education, widely opened to the art of music.
