Molecular Biology is one of the fastest developing modern biological sciences. Its objects of study are the molecular mechanisms and genetic modality of the living nature processes. The study curriculum includes disciplines, such as molecular immunology, molecular genetics, molecular biotechnology, molecular evolution, computers and informational technologies and others. Laboratory practices train students in contemporary methods for isolating and analysis of DNA, RNA and proteins, PCR, genetic cloning, SDS-PAGE and Western blot, enzyme analysis. English language courses are also included.
Graduates could find their professional realization in scientific and research institutes, at the pharmaceutical, food and agrarian industry, forensic institutions, as well as at biotechnologial, biochemical, clinical, genetic and medicinal laboratories. Training is in accordance to the European standards, which provides opportunities for specialization and professional realization abroad. The specialty “Molecular Biology” has received high accreditation evaluation from the NAEA.
