Pedagogics for physical education and sports

The specialty's curriculum is based on the European system for transfer and credits accumulation – ECTS. Students receive wide professional training.

Based on good theoretical training, the specialty's curriculum includes fundamental scientific disciplines such as: humanitarian disciplines (pedagogics, psychology, foreign languages and others); medical and biological disciplines (anatomy, physiology, sports medicine and others) special disciplines (theory and methods of physical education, theory and methods of sports training, management and others), which give excellent professional training.

The practical training of the students is realized through study of wide variety of sport disciplines such as: track-and-field sports, basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, aerobics and many others. The highly qualified professional profile is additionally supplemented by the following study practices included: water sports, ski courses, tourism and orientation, as well as traineeships in physical education and sports in the high school education.

Graduates could find their professional realization as:
- teachers in physical education and sports;
- teachers and instructors in different forms of organizational and voluntary forms of sports (sport sections and clubs, fitness clubs and others);
- consultant experts in institutions working with growing ups;
- managers in the fields of physical education and sports;

Graduates with the educational degree “bachelor” could continue their education for the higher educational degree “master” in all faculties of the Plovdiv University or at other universities in the state or abroad.
