Specialty “Business mathematics” was formed in order to train specialists capable of applying mathematic skills for business use, by using the latest IT technologies. Basics of high mathematics are studied, among with programming, informational and communication technologies. Computer techniques for applying statistics, mathematical and analysis methods are studied as well as modeling and predicting economical processes and phenomenons. Among the obligational fundamental disciplines, the curriculum also includes eligible disciplines, which allow the students to improve their skills and knowledge in the fields of their personal interests – computer mathematics, technical mathematics, economical mathematics (financial, insurance, investments, stock), engineering (applicable in the fields of chemistry, physics and biology), applicable statistics(for the needs of business, architecture, astronomy and others). The specialty's curriculum also includes specialized eligible courses in the fields of informatics, economy, law, psychology, philosophy, linguistic studies and others. Specialists in business mathematics receive theoretical knowledge and practical skills for dealing real issues in the fields of business, such as evaluating systems for financial investments, insurance programs and business plans, analyses and forecasting for the stock exchange, expenses and credits optimization. During the study process, students gain additional skills and competencies, such as abilities for independent search of needed information on the Internet, multimedia presenting of different projects, reporting and messaging, as well as good level of English in the terminological field of their specialty.
Graduates from the specialty “Business mathematics” are able to forecast, model and manage business processes and phenomenons, evaluate the available models and apply them on banks, insurance agencies, in the fields of economy and merchandising as well as at scientific and research groups. After graduating master degree, graduates could apply for the scientific degree PhD student and find professional realization as lecturers and scientific staff at higher school education institutions and scientific institutes.
