Telematics

Telematics is a science which combines the technological aspects of telecommunication and informatics. Telematics is widely applicable in industrial fields connected to the usage of computers in the telecommunications. This includes wide spectrum of communications – from the stationary phones to the Internet, as well as various types of networks, which use telecommunication systems for data transfer. Telematics (telecommunications using informatics) is an engineer field, dealing with the systems of sending, receiving and storage of different types of information, using telecommunication devices.

The specialty “Telematics” was established for the future students, which aim to receive knowledge and skills in informational and telecommunication technologies, widen their knowledge and opportunities for professional realization by combining the study of telecommunication with informatics.

Specific for this discipline is the great amount of practical activities and laboratory exercises which guarantee successful professional realization in the future. Probations and practices at leading companies in the fields of communication are provided, with the opportunity for employment after successful graduation of the bachelor program.

The educational process is based on up to date Internet based methods of training and communication with the students in Internet based DIPSEIL environment, which allows the students to work and study simultaneously.

The main aim of the education in the specialty “Telemathics” is providing specialists with good professional qualification and technical skills. This allows the graduates to practice production and technological activities, at management, leading and other positions in the fields of informatics and telecommunications.

After graduating bachelor degree, student could continue their education for the educational degree ''master'' at the Faculty of Physics at the Plovdiv University, or at other higher education institutions.
