The Faculty of Physics and Technology has more than 50 years of history in the education of physicists, tutors in physics and engineer-physicists. The Faculty is located at the center building of the university and the building itself – at the town center. Nearby are located several refectories and the university's sports complex with good opportunities for recreation - sport areas, halls and courts. The University has dormitories in which big amount of the students is accommodated. Nearby is the city library “Ivan Vazov”. Main transport arteries connect the univerasity with all urban and suburban areas.

The Faculty of Physics and Technology has 39 lecturers, 22 of them are full time professors and 33 with scientific degree-level. Significant amount of them has passed specializations in Russia, India, France, Italy and England.

The Faculty has 15 laboratories, three of which equipped with modern models and facilities for telecommunication, electronics and informational technologies, three computer halls, two specialized halls for educational purposes in the sphere of informational technologies and several technical workshops. The Faculty of Physics and Technology is the only one for now, whose students get their education through the DIPSEIL and M-learning (mobile learning) systems and are able to choose 20% of the disciplines they study, on a credit based system. A form of distance-learning system is in phase of development.

The Faculty has its own career center, offering wide variety of internship programs (Libbher, Alkatel-Lucens, DCC). Students graduated at the Faculty of Physics and Technology find professional realization as engineers and specialists in the fields of physic, electronics, communications, laser technologies, nuclear physics, polymers and optimization and development of new methods for control and automaton of physic experiments. Many of the graduates could find their professional realization as physic tutors and researchers in the fields of up to date physics and technique.
