FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
The Faculty of economics and social sciences (FESS) was established in 1994. In short period of time it managed to emerge as a modern academic center for education of economists, managers and political scientists.
At the end of 2010. the faculty is on 4th place in the sphere of Economics among 16 higher education institutions and on 7th place in the sphere of Administration and management among 19 higher education institutions. The FESS is also the biggest faculty of the university in the amount of students getting their higher education there.
At the FESS lectures are delivered for the educational grade “Bachelor” in the spheres of : “International business relations”, “Macroeconomic”, “ Marketing”, “ Finance”, “ Business management” and “Political sciences” ; and the available “Master” programs are : “Financial management; “International trade”, “Accounting and analysis”, “Business Administration”, “Human resources management”, “Business communications and PR”, “Corporative management”, “Business economy”. Ph.D.`s are available in the spheres of “Economy” and “Administration and management”.
At the Faculty projects over actual economical, management and social problems are being developed.
After graduation, significant amount of the graduates of the faculty find adequate professional realization.
Through different European educational programs students exchange is available in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, France and Greece at the universities in Ghent (Belgium), Lille and Strasbourg (France), Senftenberg (Germany), Thesaloniki and Seres(Greece), The Brussels Free University, Sofia University and New Bulgarian University.
The Faculty staff includes 43 members, 8 of which are professors, 16 Ph.D. specialists, 4 assoc. Ph.D., 12 chief assistant professors and 3 assistant professors. The Faculty has circa 60 part-time professors from both the academic and practical fields. Significant amount of the lecturers are experts and consultants in the spheres of accounting audit, sociological and political research and analysis, management of human resources, entrepreneurship, marketing and others.
